Death would often question Life on all the things it could not kill

for odd is that which doesn’t die, but Life was odder still.

Life would pester father Time to have him sing them his old song

about the aeons he had seen before they came along.

All that lingers now are echoes of these ancestral refrains

Life is dead, so is Death, and only Time remains.
